Key to Front Door (Master Key Requirement)

This information is in the “New Resident” packet you received from Security.

Security will respond to, and enter, residences where (1) an emergency exists, (2) the potential for an emergency situation may exist, or (3) the Hershey’s Mill monitored alarm system has been activated. Because the Security Department does not accept individual house keys, all homes are required to have their front door lock remain on our present Master Key System. If you wish to change or re-key your lock, Advance Lock & Security of Frazer (610-647-5042) must be utilized to ensure that the modified/new lock will continue to be compatible with our Master Key System. Any home found changing off the Master Key System will be required to make any necessary changes to ensure that the lock is compatible with the Master Keys.

To ensure compatibility, residents are advised to contact Advance Lock with the make/model lock they are looking to purchase, as some locks…such as Quickset Smart Key Series…cannot work with more than one key, making it impossible to work with a master key system.
Regarding push-button or electronic locks, residents should purchase the model (e.g., Schlage) that also has a physical key backup that can be master keyed.
