When using the Verizon remote, have you experienced your TV turning off normally but suddenly turning back on by itself? It’s a common problem. This unusual issue can occur when using the older style remote or the newest FIOS One remote. It’s caused by signal syncing circuitry in both the TV and the Verizon Set-Top-Box. The two circuits don’t communicate well and that can cause the TV to turn back on. The fix is to Disable the syncing on the Verizon Set-Top-box.
Here’s how to do it: Make sure your TV is turned on, then using either style Verizon remote press the Menu key. If using the older style remote, make sure you aim it at the Verizon Set-Top-Box.
Press Menu on the remote. As seen on the TV screen, navigate to, then press OK on Settings. Navigate to, then press OK on Audio & Video. Navigate to, then press OK on Video Settings. Navigate to, then press OK on TV Input Control. On the remote, right click to Enable then choose Disable and click OK to choose No about applying to other STBs. If done correctly there should be a checkmark next to Disable. Press Exit on the remote to return to normal TV.
