Gardening for Butterflies & Their Caterpillars

The beauty of butterflies has been extolled for centuries – and with good reason! These delicate insects are a hallmark of warm weather and lend grace to the garden with their vibrant colors and gentle demeanor. However, butterflies need more than just flowers and nectar. They need overwintering sites, host plants, and shelter. Luckily, with some work, our gardens can provide these. Join us to hear from Sam Nestory about common and not-so-common butterfly species found in southeastern Pennsylvania and how you can transform your garden to support these beautiful insects.

Samantha Nestory, naturalist and horticulturist is Engagement Manager at Stoneleigh: a natural Garden in Villanova.

The James Webb Space Telescope

The James Webb Space Telescope orbits as far as 900,000 miles from Earth and sends us data from the time the first stars and galaxies were formed.  Too amazing to comprehend?  Our resident expert Dennis O’Leary will explain it all—the idea for the JWST, its development, and what it is telling us.
